The Great Dorset Eight The Great Dorset Eight MTB ChallengeA mountain bike event to test your climbing and descending skills. You have a choice of the 30 mile great eight Dorset hill challenge or the 'not quite as great but still pretty good' 20 mile route. The Great Eight times are here! Some photos of you beautiful people are here! The start / finish is at Clay Pigeon Raceway just off the A37 Dorchester to Yeovil road. The site will be open from 8.15am and you can start from 8.30am until 9.00am The 20 mile (actually 22.5mile, sorry!) route is hereThe 30 mile (actually 31.5mile!) route is here. The Great Dorset Eight 32mile route for GPS Following on from our Dirty Dabbler we will once again be signing the routes, (hopefully people will leave the signs alone this time!) and there will be energy food, mechanical back up and sweeping up van all availble. We have been lucky enough to have been given permission to use the facilities at the Clay Pigeon Raceway so we would like to thank them and should you wish to organise a superb day of karting, go to http://www.claypigeonraceway.com/ for all the info you need, you won't be disappointed! The 30 mile route will incorporate 8 climbs that will test your climbing ability but they are all followed by a stunning descent and the usual fabulous Dorset views. If this seems too much, then opt for the 20 mile route that still has some great climbs and descents but will not test you to the same level. You can also, if desired, start the 30 mile route and revert to the shorter ride if you are finding it too tough, the choice is entirely yours!
